BIMINI SHOOTOUT - Long-range runs from the
Bimini Sands Resort &
Marina in the Bahamas and a friendly bottom-fishing competition between
George Poveromo’s MARC VI and a new Mako 284 Express skippered by Lou
Volpe highlight this exciting, action-filled episode. The two Makos
anchor some 30 miles south of Bimini, where George and Lou do a number on big yellowtails and kingfish. The next day the two friends head 40
miles northeast for action with flag yellowtails, kingfish and cobia.
This episode illustrates the fabulous fishing Bimini has to offer,
while teaching viewers about the most productive tactics for covering
the entire water column – and scoring big. There was a lot of pride at stake on this trip, and you’ll just
have to tune in to find out which boat came out on top when the chumming ceased!

NORTH
CAROLINA’S GIANT RED DRUM -
The waters of North Carolina’s Crystal Coast play host
to some of the largest redfish in the world. And taking
on these monsters was precisely why George visited
Morehead City with his Mako 2201, the Shallow-Water
MARC. Leading the way is Captain Gary Dubiel, a
well-known light-tackle guide and authority on catching
giant reds. Poveromo and Dubiel head to the Neuse
River, where they anchor on a shallow shelf, pitch out
chunks of fresh mullet on circle hooks and wait for a
fish to eat. The duo release fish of 50, 48, 42, and 30
pounds in the morning, then head back later in the
afternoon to land two more fish in the 30-pound class.
This is one episode a redfish fan can’t afford to
miss! The Poveromo crew stayed at the Comfort Inn in
Morehead City.

CHUB
CAY OFFSHORE - Part one of a special two-episode
series in which George and friend Harry Vernon III take
the MARC on a 450-mile round trip Bahamas adventure that
encompasses Chub Cay in the Berry Islands and Treasure Cay
in the Abacos. Running out of the Chub Cay Resort and
Marina, Poveromo and Vernon set an elaborate trolling
spread consisting of five baits, two surface teasers and a
195-fish dredge. Concentrating on surface temperature
breaks, weeds, and working birds, they catch big dolphin,
wahoo and sailfish. This episode illustrates how to
find and troll up fish in the Bahamas, along with the
subtleties involved in choosing and positioning baits and
teasers and dialing in the most effective trolling speed.

Brack head to Canavieiras, Brazil, to pursue the

NORWALK,
CONNECTICUT, BASS AND BLUES - George and his
MARC VI head north, where he teams up with friend Rick
Mola to catch striped bass and bluefish in western Long
Island Sound. The time is late October, when
migrating bunker schools are stalked by hungry bass and
blues. The fishing at this time or year can be
explosive, as George and Rick prove with their
diamond-jigging technique. Mola, a veteran Long
Island Sound angler and pioneer of many techniques,
reveals how to keep track of migrating fish and where to
consistently find the big ones. George kept his MARC
VI at The Bait Shop, a local Mako dealer in nearby
Rowayton, and stayed at the Trumbull
Marriott.
